Line items are used to break down the details of an invoice. You can create new line items while building projects or estimates or go to your Item Library and use Create Line Item to proactively build a database of frequently used work items.
Item Details
- Item Name = create a short but unique name for your item.
- Description (optional) = add detail that gives additional information about the Item Name. If present, there is an expandable field on the item details of projects and invoices for your customers.
- Price Per Unit (required) = add the price per unit.
- Unit = define the unit (example - ea, sq ft, in, lb) being used in the unit price.
- Item ID (optional) = add a unique item ID.
- Budget Code = add a budget code for internal reporting purposes.
- Indicate whether the item is non-taxable or taxable.
- If you are in the create project or estimate workflow, you can check the box next to Add to Item Library so it is available to use again on other projects or, if the item will not be used again, do not check the box.
- Click Create.
