Building estimates Here is what you will need to create an estimate.
Tips for adding work detail Use items from your item library to add work detail and pricing. If existing items are close enough, add them anyway instead of creating a new item. You can edit items on the project without updating the library. |
Attach files Whether it’s job site photos, important documents, or reference materials, attach items to the estimate so you can keep everything in one place. You can upload up to 5 items such as images, videos, and documents.
If you send a copy of the estimate to your customer, they will be able to access the files when they click View Estimate. The items are also added to the Files section of the customer record. |
Down payments Down payments are optional. If you are going to require a down payment to schedule the project, you can set a percentage of the project total or a fixed dollar amount. |

Customer notification (optional) Customer notification is the last step before you create your estimate. Use this setting to control when customers receive a copy of the estimate by email. The default setting is On. If the customer associated with this estimate contains an email address, that address is automatically populated in the Email field. When Customer Notifications is turned On, an email is sent to your customer with a link to view the project estimate as soon as you click the Create Estimate button. Use Add Email if your customer asked you to send the estimate to multiple recipients. You can edit and resend the estimate as many times as is necessary until the project is approved. See Estimate approvals for more information about the approval process. If you prefer not to notify your customer - for example, when creating internal quotes confirming details already discussed - you can simply change the toggle to Off. You should see a statement that confirms the customer will not be notified. |
