Where to find Take Payment in Customers

Take Payment (also known as Quick Pay) is the quickest way to collect a payment in person. Just enter the amount and payment method details. Manually enter the payment information on your mobile device or let the customer enter it on their own mobile device. You can go to the main navigation menu and locate Take Payments or, if you are within Customers, you can use one of the shortcut buttons located in Customer List and Payment Method. 

Keep in mind that these payments aren't linked to specific estimates, projects, invoices, or customer records because the form provides limited information. Therefore, payments made through Take Payment will only show up in Payment Activity.

Customer List

  1. If you are on desktop, go to the left sidebar. If you are in the mobile app or in a web browser on a mobile device, go to the hamburger menu in the upper left corner.
  2. Go to Customers.
  3. Locate the correct customer in the list and click the Take Payment button.
  4. Select Non-Taxable or Taxable.
  5. Enter the Payment Amount.
  6. Enter the Tax amount (if Taxable). Tax amounts are not automatically calculated.
  7. Select a Payment Method from the dropdown or enter a new method.
  8. Billing address and receipt email are automatically pulled from the customer record. Click +Add Email to send the receipt to multiple email addresses (1 email address per line).
  9. Click Process.

Payment Method

  1. Within your customer's account record, go to the Payment Method tab.
  2. Click the Take Payment action in the upper right corner.
  3. Select Non-Taxable or Taxable.
  4. Enter the Payment Amount.
  5. Enter the Tax amount (if Taxable). Tax amounts are not automatically calculated.
  6. Select a Payment Method from the dropdown or enter a new method.
  7. Billing address and receipt email are automatically pulled from the customer record. Click +Add Email to send the receipt to multiple email addresses (1 email address per line).
  8. Click Process.
