Viewing saved payment methods

The Payment Methods tab displays all stored payment methods for your customer. 

  • Buttons are available in the Actions column to edit, take a quick payment, or delete the payment method. There are also actions to the right of the search field to Take Payment, which redirects you to the Take Payments form with any known information pre-populated, and Add Method to add a new card or bank account.
  • Name on Account is the account holder's name. This may be different than the customer name.
  • Last 4 = last 4 digits on the account number. For security reasons and PCI compliance, all account numbers must be encrypted.
  • Exp = expiration date (credit cards only).

Add a saved payment method

Customers can add new payment methods and access their list of saved payment methods when submitting payments. For security reasons, they only see the name of the payment method and encrypted account information. 

If a customer wants to give you their payment information in person or over the phone to store for future use, here is how you can add it to their digital wallet.

  1. Locate the correct customer and click View.
  2. Go to Payment Methods in the upper navigation bar.
  3. Click Add Method. 
  4. Select Card or eCheck depending on what payment method you are adding.
  5. Enter required account holder information including customer name and account number
  6. Check the box next to Billing address is the same as customer address to prepopulate what is already saved or enter a new billing street address and zip code.
  7. Click Save.

Edit saved payment methods

Customers can add new payment methods and access their list of saved payment methods when submitting payments. For security reasons, they only see the name of the payment method and encrypted account information. 

A customer cannot edit saved payment methods from payment forms; the merchant must make the changes in the customer's digital wallet.   

  1. Locate the correct customer and click View.
  2. Go to Payment Methods in the upper navigation bar.
  3. Locate the payment method that needs updating.
  4. Click Edit Item.
  5. Update any fields that have new information such as name, billing address, and expiration date. Card number, CVV, routing number, and account number fields cannot be modified. If that information has changed, you must remove the payment method and add a new one.
  6. Click Save.

Delete a payment method

Customers can add new payment methods and access their list of saved payment methods when submitting payments. For security reasons, they only see the name of the payment method and encrypted account information. 

A customer cannot delete saved payment methods from the payment form; the merchant must do this in the customer's digital wallet.   

  1. Locate the correct customer and click View.
  2. Go to Payment Methods in the upper navigation bar.
  3. Locate the payment method you wish to remove.
  4. Click Delete in the Actions column.
  5. Confirm you wish to continue by clicking the Delete button or click cancel to exit the process and retain the saved payment method.
