Why send an online review request?

Online reviews help to build trust and credibility. When customers are happy with your work, they want to help your business grow by sharing their experience with others. These recommendations are the first thing potential customers look for when doing their research.

Please note that you must configure and enable the Online Review Link in Settings for this feature to work. Project 2 Payment does not generate and host review pages. The button is configured using the URL from your existing online review page on Google, Yelp, Facebook, or other review platform. 

Once enabled, a Write a Review button will appear in payment receipts. However, here are some reasons why you don't want to wait for a payment receipt to send the request.

  • You know an existing customer loves the work you do and they would be willing to post a positive review online to spread the word and help you grow your business.
  • The customer reaches out and asks where they can leave a review.
  • The payment was collected outside of Project 2 Payment. You mark the invoice as paid, but a payment is not processed so a payment receipt is not sent to the customer.

How to send a request on demand

  1. If you are on desktop, go to the left sidebar. If you are in the mobile app or in a web browser on a mobile device, go to the hamburger menu in the upper left corner.
  2. Click on Customers.
  3. Locate the correct customer and edit to view details. Please note that the customer must have an email address to send the online review request.
  4. Click to the Request Online Review action at the top of the page. A pop-up window will appear for you to customize the email.
  5. We have suggested a subject line for you, but feel free to customize it.
  6. The first message box is the opening for your email. The Write a Review button will appear just below this paragraph in the email. We have suggested text, but you can feel free to customize it. It is a good idea to include a warm greeting with an request to click the button and submit a review.
  7. The second message is the paragraph that appears below the Write a Review button as a closing. We have suggested text, but you can feel free to customize it. It is a good idea to thank them for the review and include a courteous closing with your name or business name.
  8. Click the Preview Email button to see a draft of what your customers will receive.
  9. If the message looks good, click Send Email to send the message. Click back to return to the previous page and make changes. If you change your mind, click cancel in the upper right corner.
