The Take Payments module is the fastest way to collect a payment in person without creating an estimate, project, invoice, or customer record.
Essential Steps by Option

Enter a payment on your customer's behalf
- If you are on desktop, go to the left sidebar. If you are in the mobile app or in a web browser on a mobile device, go to the hamburger menu in the upper left corner.
- Click on Take Payments.
- Enter the payment amount.
- If the payment is taxable, change the toggle to Taxable and add the amount for sales tax.
- Select Card or eCheck for the payment method.
- Complete all required payment method fields with your customer's information.
- Enter billing address associated with the payment method entered.
- Enter one email address for the Receipt Email.
- Use the Add Email link if you need to add more addresses.
- If surcharging is enabled on your account and an eligible credit card is used for payment, you must check the box to confirm your customer has agreed to the surcharge amount added to the transaction total. The total transaction amount will automatically be adjusted to include the surcharge.
- Click Process Payment.
- A receipt will instantly be emailed to your customer.

Show a QR code in person
- If you are on desktop, go to the left sidebar. If you are in the mobile app or in a web browser on a mobile device, go to the hamburger menu in the upper left corner.
- Click on Take Payments.
- If you are in the mobile app or in a web browser on a mobile device, click Actions in the upper right corner.
- Click Quick QR code.
- Enter the payment amount.
- If the payment is taxable, change the toggle to Taxable and add the amount for sales tax.
- Your customer must open a QR code scanner on their mobile device and scan the code.
- This will pull up a payment page on their mobile device.
- The customer can enter payment details to submit their payment.

Send a QR code to your customer
- Log into Project 2 Payment on desktop or in a web browser on a mobile device.
- If you are on desktop, go to the left sidebar. If you are in a web browser on a mobile device, go to the hamburger menu in the upper left corner.
- Click on Take Payments.
- If you are in the mobile app or in a web browser on a mobile device, click Actions in the upper right corner.
- Click Quick QR code.
- Enter the payment amount.
- If the payment is taxable, change the toggle to Taxable and add the amount for sales tax.
- Click Download QR Code.
- Send a copy of the code by text or email.
- Your customer must open a QR code scanner on their mobile device and scan the code.
- This will pull up a payment page on their mobile device.
- The customer can enter payment details to submit their payment.
