A payment page is a quick and easy way for customers to send payment whenever it works best for them without having to create a project or send an invoice. Simply add the link to a page on your website or include it in the body of an email. If you are adding the page to your website, consider using a slide open script to enhance the user experience.
- Go to Settings in the left sidebar (desktop) or hamburger menu (mobile).
- Click the Payment Page tile.
- When set to On, your unique payment page URL will appear. Use the Copy icon to quickly grab the entire link and paste it wherever you will be using it. Turning the page on and off does not change the URL but, when set to Off, customers will not be able to access the page.
Invoice Number
Decide whether you want an Invoice Number field to appear on your page.
- Off = the Invoice Number field will not appear on your page.
- Optional = the Invoice Number field will appear on your page and can be left blank.
- Required = the Invoice Number field will appear on your page and customers are required to enter something in that field to submit a payment.
Please keep in mind there is not a lookup function on this field so the information entered does not have to be correct to submit a payment.
Notes
Decide whether you want a Notes field to appear on your page so customers can add comments.
- Off = the Notes field will not appear on your page.
- Optional = the Notes field appears on your page and can be left blank.
- Required = the Notes field appears on your page and customers are required to enter something in that field to submit a payment.
Important Note: The payment amount field of your payment page has a toggle for Non-Taxable and Taxable. This is not a field in your payment page configuration settings and it cannot be changed. The page defaults to Non-Taxable.
Be sure to let your customer know if they need to select Taxable. The page does not calculate tax so you will need to communicate the correct subtotal and tax amounts to enter on the form.
To prevent errors, consider creating a custom link that is pre-filled for your customer and locks down fields like pricing, tax, notes, and invoice ID.
