Amount display formats

What is standard format?

Standard ($0.00) displays amounts in the traditional currency format (two decimal places) so some amounts may be rounded.

Standard is useful for deposit reconciliation as amounts pushed to your bank are rounded.

What is fractional format?

Fractional ($0.00000) displays the true calculation for better accuracy, however, partial pennies can lead to Disbursement Rollovers.

When less than a penny is present at the time of funding, the fractional amount is not disbursed until another rollover can bring the total balance to a full penny for funding. Therefore, fractional is useful in your Account Balance to identify partials pennies that will impact future deposits.

How to change the display format

The default format is Standard, but you can change either the fee format or the Balance Details format

    1. If you are on desktop, go to the left sidebar. If you are in the mobile app or in a web browser on a mobile device, go to the hamburger menu in the upper left corner.
    2. Click on Merchant Portal.
    3. A new window will open with the login page for your merchant account. Enter the username and password for your merchant portal login. This is different than the primary login you use to access Project 2 Payment. 
    4. Click Log In.
    5. Go to Settings in the left sidebar.
    6. Go to Payment Settings and click the Amount Display Formats link.
    7. Go to Fee Amount Format. 
    8. Change the toggle to your preferred selection. Your choice is automatically saved.
    9. Go to Balance Details Format. This controls whether you want to see fees amounts in Standard or Fractional format in all areas of the portal and in reports.
    10. Change the toggle to your preferred selection. Your choice is automatically saved.
