Processing times

As a general rule, card payments deposit within 2 business days and eCheck payments deposit within 7 business days if the transaction is created before 9:30pm eastern time. The settlement process for eChecks is longer than cards because they two methods settle on different networks with different timing. It takes longer for funds to become available from your customer's bank.

Once the payment settles, the funds appear in your Available Balance. You can check your balance anytime by logging into the Merchant Portal.

1. If you are on desktop, go to the left sidebar. If you are in the mobile app or in a web browser on a mobile device, go to the hamburger menu in the upper left corner.
2. Click on Merchant Portal.
3. A new window will open with the login page for your merchant account.
4. Enter the username and password for your merchant portal login. This is different than the primary login you use to access Project 2 Payment. 
5. Click the Log In button.

You should see an Account Balance tile on the dashboard or you can go to Payouts in the left sidebar and an Account Balance tile will appear at the top of the page.

Payouts

Payouts are created at 6pm eastern time and normally process same day. If there is $10 or more in your available balance, a payout is automatically created to send the money to your bank account. If the sum of settled payments is less than $10, the funds will stay in your available balance until the minimum amount is met.

All transaction fees are deducted from the payout instead of waiting to debit your bank account one lump sum every month. 

You should receive two emails confirming deposit activity. 

• Your withdrawal has been requested is sent when a payout has been created. The payout create date is what determines when the funds will hit your bank account.
• Your withdrawal has been processed confirms that funds were successfully sent. You should see them in your bank account on the next business day.

Once a payout is fully processed, you can view the fees in the Payouts section of the Merchant Portal.

Note: The $0.50 per payout fee is assessed after a payout is successfully completed. Therefore, it will appear in the details of your next deposit. This means you will not see a $0.50 payout fee under Miscellaneous Fees in the details of your first deposit. This is also why you usually see -$0.50 in your Account Balance right after a payout.

Deposit timing

The tables below are based on typical deposit behavior if there are no issues at your bank and no risk holds on the merchant account. Please keep in mind that there is no movement of funds on weekends and holidays.
