What is a Form 1099-K? Form 1099-K is a report of payments you received for goods and services during the year from credit cards, debit cards, gift cards, payment apps, and online marketplaces. Your merchant account provider is required to submit a 1099-K to the IRS and to you. This form helps the IRS ensure businesses are accurately reporting their income. It will also help you with reporting your taxable income when you file your return. All gross amounts listed are the total dollar amount of reportable payments within the calendar year based on the date of the payment. Credits, refunds, chargebacks, and processing fees are not included. Your Form 1099-K for the tax year should be available for download in the Merchant Portal no later than January 31st of the following year. |
